USC’s Kaitlyn Dobler Named CSC Academic All-American for Third Consecutive Year
April 22, 2025 | Women's Swimming & Diving
Dobler is the first-ever three-time First Team honoree at USC.
LOS ANGELES - USC's Kaitlyn Dobler was voted to the 2024-25 College Sport Communicators Division I Swimming and Diving Academic All-America® First-Team on Tuesday, April 22. This marks the 50th all-time College Sport Communicators Academic All-America® First-Team certificate earned by 42 USC athletes.
The fifth-year breaststroker from Oregon has kept her cumulative GPAs over 3.5, while pursuing a graduate degree in astronautical engineering, accompanying the undergraduate degree she earned from USC in the same field last May.
With the selection, Dobler is now a four-time honoree, earning First Team honors for the third consecutive year along with second team honors in 2022. The fifth-year USC swimmer becomes the first Trojan in history to earn First Team accolades three times.
Dobler is one of only two Big Ten athletes represented on the Swimming and Diving Academic All-America®First Team list (Phoebe Bacon of Wisconsin also named to First Team). This season, Dobler won two Big Ten individual titles, including USC's first-ever individual title and earned CSCAA First Team All-America honors at the 2025 NCAA Championships (400y medley relay).
During her five years as a Trojan, Dobler has tallied 11 total conference titles (two Big Ten, nine Pac-12), an NCAA title in the 100y breaststroke (2022) and nine First Team CSCAA All-America honors. The breaststroker also holds school records in three events (100y breaststroke, 200y medley relay and 400y medley relay).
USC swimmers and divers have been well represented over the years on the CSC's Academic All-America®First-Team list, with Trojans Ray Looze, Alex Lendrum, Haley Ishimatsu, Anika Apostalon and Lina Sculti all having previously earned First Team honors.
