April 01, 2025 | Women's Golf
LOS ANGELES - Sophomore Bailey Shoemaker, freshman Jasmine Koo, junior Catherine Park, and incoming freshman Sarah Hammett have been selected to participate in the Augusta National Women's Amateur at one of the most famed courses in golf. USC will feature multiple golfers for the sixth time in a row at the 2025 Augusta National Women's Amateur, held Wednesday, April 2, through Saturday, April 5, in Georgia.
This will be Shoemaker's third straight appearance at this event. She earned second place last year after finishing seven-under-par overall (70-73-66). Koo and Park competed last year as well, with Koo finishing in fourth and Park tying for 30th. Sarah Hammett will be making her first appearance on this course as her championship debut.
Koo currently leads USC in stroke average (70.45) and has won four tournaments this season (Windy City Collegiate, Stanford Intercollegiate, East Lake Cup, and Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational). Park has six top-10 finishes this season, including a first-place win (Leadership and Golf Invitational). Shoemaker has five top-25 finishes this season and eight career rounds in the 60s. Hammett finished in the top four of the Women's Australian Master of the Amateurs and runner-up in the Australian Women's Amateur in January of this year.
An international field of 72 women amateurs will compete over 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut to 30 players taking place after two rounds.
The first two rounds will take place on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., April 2 and 3, 2025. The entire field will then play Augusta National for an official practice round Friday, April 4. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 5, featuring the competitors who made the cut.
The first and second rounds of the Augusta National Women's Amateur will be broadcast live on Golf Channel (1:30-3:30 p.m. ET) from Champions Retreat Golf Club. NBC Sports will produce and broadcast three hours (Noon-3 p.m. ET) of live final-round coverage of the event at Augusta National.
The winner of the event (provided she remains an amateur) will receive an invitation to the next five Augusta National Women's Amateurs, the U.S. Women's Open, the AIG Women's Open, the Chevron Championship, the Evian Championship and any USGA, R&A and PGA of America amateur championships for which she is eligible for one year.
