No. 17 USC Swimming Wraps Up First Evening of Competition at NCAA Championships

Federal Way, Wash. - No. 17 USC men's swimming wrapped up the first evening of action at the NCAA Championships with an All-American 800y freestyle relay finish at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
USC's 200y medley relay quartet kicked off the evening with an 18th place finish as Griffin O'Leary, Chris O'Grady, Michal Chmielewski and Diggory Dillingham combined to clock a season-best 1:23.67.
Troy closed out the evening with Second Team All-America honors as Luke Maurer, Oliver Sogaard-Andersen, Ben Dillard and Krzysztof Chmielewski posted a time of 6:11.17 for 12th in the 800y freestyle relay.
Through the first evening of competition, USC sits in 16th place with 10 points. Texas leads the way with 74 points, followed by California in second with 72 and Georgia in third with 54 points.
Action continues tomorrow with swim prelims at 10 a.m. PT. The morning session will feature the 500y freestyle, 200y IM, 50y freestyle and men's 1-meter diving. The evening session will include the 200y freestyle relay. All sessions can be streamed on ESPN+.
