USC’s Minna Abraham Finishes Runner-Up in NCAA 200-Yard Freestyle Race

Trojans sit in 12th place through three days of competition.
Federal Way, Wash. - USC sophomore Minna Abraham turned in another First Team All-American finish in the 200y freestyle to highlight the third evening of competition for the Trojans at the NCAA Championships.
Through three evenings of competition, USC sits in 12th place with 90 points. Virginia leads the way in first with 383, followed by Stanford and Texas.
The third day of action saw Trojan sophomore Abraham blast a school record-worthy time of 1:40.56 to finish runner-up in the 200y freestyle. The sophomore's time makes her the first Trojan in history to swim a sub-1:41.00.
Trojans Claire Tuggle (200y freestyle) and Kaitlyn Dobler (100y breaststroke) earned All-America Second-Team honors in their respective races. Tuggle posted a PR in prelims and finals, while Abraham also blasted a personal best in finals.
Making her NCAA debut, freshman Kate Miller finished seventh in the consolation final of 4-meter diving with 316.65 points.
USC's 400y medley relay closed out the third evening of competition with a seventh place finish as Famous, Dobler, Genevieve Sasseville and Abraham blasted a season-best 3:26.82.
Action concludes tomorrow, with prelims set to begin at 10 a.m PT. The morning session will include the 100y freestyle, 200y butterfly, 200y backstroke and the 200y breaststroke. Trojan Kate Miller will also represent Troy in the women's platform diving competition beginning at 12:15 p.m. PT.
