No. 18 USC Sweeps Big Ten Rival Oregon 4-0

Trojans continue to dominate doubles.
EUGENE, Ore. – No. 18 USC women's tennis swept Big Ten rival Oregon 4-0 to wrap up the Trojans first conference road trip of the season. With the victory, USC improves to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
With two doubles teams ranked in the top 50, USC stole the doubles point for the 10th straight time this season, posting wins on courts one and three. On court three, USC's pair of Emma Charney and Parker Fry extended their win streak to 11 matches, downing Oregon's Aparisi/Souza 6-2. The doubles match was won on center court as the nation's No. 8 ranked duo of Grace Piper and Lily Fairclough beat Jagare/Santitto 6-3.
Moving into singles play with a one-point advantage, the Trojans dropped first sets on three of the six courts but managed to come out on top. USC's No. 73 ranked Immi Haddad delivered a straight set win over Patsy Daughters, winning 6-2, 6-3 on court four. Piper, the nation's No. 47 ranked singles player, overcame a first set loss to beat Marjorie Souza 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 and position the Trojans for a win. Celebrating her birthday, Trojan No. 56 Charney would deliver the clinch on court two, downing Karin Young 6-4, 6-4 to solidify the sweep for USC.
Remaining matches were abandoned with senior Sloane Morra leading Oregon's Santitto 6-4, 4-5 and sophomore Lily Fairclough up 5-7, 6-4, 4-0.
The Women of Troy now return home for a two-match home stand as USC hosts Michigan State on Saturday at noon and Michigan on Sunday at 1 p.m. Saturday's 'Alumni Day' match will feature a 40th anniversary celebration for USC's 1985 National Championship Team. Sunday will feature a USC women's tennis visor giveaway for the first 100 fans.
