No. 4 USC Beach Volleyball Goes East For FAU Beach Invitational

The Trojans' top pair of Zoey Henson and Madison White have won nine matches at the No. 1 position
LOS ANGELES – No. 4 USC (11-3) heads east for six duals in Florida this week. The Trojans take on Florida Gulf Coast (4-6), No. 15 Stetson (10-2), No. 13 Florida Atlantic (8-4), and No. 20 Georgia State (6-5) as part of the FAU Beach Invitational in Pompano Beach (March 15-16). The Trojans will also get a rematch with No. 3 TCU (7-3) on Riviera Beach and then face Palm Beach State College in an exhibition dual on Tuesday (March 18).

NEW DIGS:Â USC plays its first season as a member of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in 2025. The Trojans were members of the Pac-12 from 2016 through 2024 and won five conference titles (2016-17, '19, '22, 24) including the final crown awarded in 2024. With the dissolution of the league, USC moved to the MPSF and is joined by UCLA, California, Stanford, Oregon, Washington, and Grand Canyon. The first MPSF beach volleyball tournament will be played April 23-25 on Spiker Beach in Huntington Beach, Calif. The champion of the seven-team league will receive the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA championship.

A LITTLE BIT OF SUNSHINE: The Trojans are 23-2 all-time in the Sunshine State. USC takes a trip to the state of Florida for the fourth consecutive year (2022-25) and previously played in the state three other times (2012, 2016, and 2019). The Trojans are 21-1 in the greater Miami and Fort Lauderdale area. USC's two losses in the Sunshine State came against Florida State (2012) and TCU (2023). In total, the Trojans are 30-5 when they play in the Eastern Time Zone, which includes matches in South Carolina and in Georgia.

RE-CAL-CULATION: Graduate transfer Maya Gessner played three seasons at California (2021-23) and won 54 matches with the Golden Bears. She is the fourth former Bear to join the Trojans and follows Ainsley Radell (2024), Caroline Schafer (2022), and Mary Buckingham (2014). Maya and her former teammates will face off USC's second match at the MPSF Midseason Rumble on Friday (March 7) at noon PT.

TOP CLASS: USC bid farewell to four pillars of the team's success through its four-peat NCAA run. All-Americans Delaynie Maple (128 career wins) and Megan Kraft (125) depart as the program's fifth and seventh all-time leaders in victories. All-Pac-12 twins Nicole Nourse (127) and Audrey Nourse (124) concluded their illustrious careers as the sixth and eighth winningest Women of Troy in school history. The foursome won four NCAA titles, two Pac-12 crowns, and were part of the most successful run the team has had. Kraft finished as a four-time All-American and was the first-ever AVCA National Player of the Year in 2024. Maple was a two-time All-American and was a two-time co-captain with Nicole. Audrey and Nicole were each two-time CSC Academic All-Americans. From 2024 alone, the Trojans also graduated Olivia Bakos, Emily Fitzner, Maddi Kriz, Molly Phillips, Ainsley Radell, and Grace Seits, who combine for a total 328 career victories.

ROAD WARRIORS:Â The Trojans play 28 of their 32 regular-season duals on the road this season. USC will take a total of six trips (one to Laguna Beach) in the regular season. Last year, including trips to play in the Pac-12 and NCAA tournaments, the Women of Troy took eight trips in total.

POLL POSITION: USC opened the 2025 season ranked No. 1 in the AVCA Collegiate Beach preseason poll. The Women of Troy have been ranked in every AVCA poll for a total of 116 weeks. USC has also been ranked in the top five of the poll 115 times. The Trojans held that top-five distinction for 63 consecutive weeks from its inception until March 2, 2020. USC first seized the No. 1 ranking in both the AVCA and Volleyball Magazine polls on March 23, 2015, following a victory over then No. 1-ranked Hawai'i on the road and held the ranking for the rest of 2015. USC has been ranked No. 1 in 50 AVCA polls, the most all-time. The Trojans, Pepperdine, Hawai'i, UCLA, LSU, Florida State, and TCU are the only seven teams ever to hold the top spot in the poll.
