USC Men's Volleyball's Dillon Klein and Parker Tomkinson Repeat For MPSF/Molten Honors

LOS ANGELES – USC men's volleyball junior outside hitter Dillon Klein (Pacific Palisades, Calif./Loyola HS) was chosen as the MPSF/Molten Offensive Player of the Week and freshman middle blocker Parker Tomkinson (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, Feb. 3.

Trojans swept both the offensive and defensive awards for the second straight week and for the fourth time since March 7, 2022. Klein was last week's defensive award winner and Tomkinson took home the offensive award.

Klein scored 40 kills on just 60 swings with only three errors to hit .617 in three wins on the road. He registered season-highs of 22 kills and 23.5 points in a victory over No. 13 Ohio State where he hit a career-best .700. Against No. 17 Penn State, Klein had 14 kills on 23 attacks to hit .565. He also put up 10 digs and had four blocks and a service ace on the Trojans' trip to the Midwest. His eye-popping stat line had him hitting .617 with 4.44 kills per set and 4.78 points per set. It is Klein's third-career MPSF Offensive Player of the Week honor and his fourth weekly award all-time.

Tomkinson notched 13.0 blocks and averaged 1.30 blocks per set in the Trojans three wins. He set a new career mark with eight blocks (seven assisted, one solo) in a win over the Buckeyes and matched his career high with four digs against 17th-ranked Penn State. He also logged nine kills in each contest while hitting .485 to finish with 27.0 points and average 2.70 pps. Tomkinson collects his second-career league weekly award.

The Trojans' wins over Central State, Ohio State, and Penn State helped USC improve to 8-0 for the first time since 1991. The team has put together the program's longest win streak since 2012.

Fifth-ranked USC hosts Dominican (1-4) for a match at the Galen Center Pavilion on Saturday (Feb. 8) at noon PT. The match will be shown live on a Big Ten Plus stream as the Trojans look to extend their eight-match win streak.
