USC Men’s Tennis Goes Coastal with Match Against Pepperdine

LOS ANGELES – USC men's tennis returns from its two-week break with a top-25 matchup as they take on No. 25 Pepperdine at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Malibu, Calif.

The Trojans (4-3) have kicked off the season by taking on a variety of top-25 talent, including No. 6 Arizona at ITA Kickoff Weekend, and No. 13 Stanford and the (now ranked) No. 23 California at home last time they saw action.

So far, the Trojans have drawn mixed results, logging individual ranked wins, without the team result to follow. Senior Peter Makk made a statement with his defeat of the Golden Bears' No. 4 Carl Emil Overbeck the last time he played, landing his first top five victory and launching himself into the No. 24 national ranking. The victory also won Makk the Big Ten Player of the Week award (Feb. 5).

Now, the Trojans will look to continue their tough early schedule slate against their next ranked opponent in the Waves. Pepperdine has one ranked singles player, No. 32 Maxi Homberg, and one ranked doubles pairing of No. 51 Homberg and Linus Carlsson Halldin.
