February 11, 2025 | Women's Basketball
Trojan forward recorded her eighth double-double in USC’s win over No. 8 Ohio State.
USC forward Kiki Iriafen has picked up national honors as one of five Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week honorees by the U.S Basketball Writers Association (USBWA). It's the first such award of the season for Iriafen, coming off of her double-double performance in the Trojans' win over No. 8 Ohio State.
Across USC's two Big Ten wins in the last week — an 86-64 victory over Wisconsin in Madison and an 84-63 win over the No. 8 Buckeyes at Galen Center — Iriafen averaged 1.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 48.3 percent from the floor and 91.7 percent from the free-throw line. She led USC in scoring in both wins, scoring 15 points at Wisconsin and 24 points vs. Ohio State — to have now scored in double digits in 22 of 23 games played at USC.
Also with a season-high 13 rebounds vs. Ohio State, Iriafen recorded her eighth double-double of the season and eighth game of the season with 20+ points. She scored the first six points of the second half to get USC to a 10-point lead on Ohio State en route to a resounding top-10 win for the Trojans.
Iriafen and the Trojans have two Big Ten Conference meetings against familiar foes this week. First up, the Trojans host crosstown rival UCLA in a 7 p.m. clash on Thursday (Feb. 13) at Galen Center. From there, USC heads to Seattle to visit Washington for a 4 p.m. contest on Sunday (Feb. 16).
