November 25, 2025 | Women's Basketball
Trojans record most blocks in school history since 1984.
LOS ANGELES - USC freshman Jazzy Davidson recorded her first career double-double as No. 18 USC women's basketball overwhelmed Tennessee Tech 85-44 on Tuesday night at the Galen Center.
Davidson first career double-double included 20 points on 9-for-14 shooting and a career-high 16 rebounds, the most by a USC freshman since 2021. Senior guard Londynn Jones matched Davidson with 20 points, hitting 4-of-4 from deep, while sophomore forward Vivian Iwuchukwu delivered a career-high 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting. Kennedy Smith filled the stat sheet with nine points, a game-high five assists, two steals and two blocks.
USC set the tone immediately, opening on an 11–0 run and holding Tennessee Tech to eight first-quarter points, a season low for a Trojan opponent. Davidson (14 first-half points, nine rebounds) sparked the early surge, scoring from all levels and anchoring a defense that tallied nine blocks before halftime. Jones scored 10 of her 20 in the opening frame, as USC pushed the lead to 27 in the second quarter.
The Trojans length smothered the Golden Eagles, who shot just 17.6 percent in the half. USC led 43–19 at the break after shooting 45.9 percent and generating steady offense from its bench and second-chance opportunities. Iwuchukwu added seven first-half points and two blocks, while Kennedy Smith handed out four assists before halftime.
USC's dominance continued after the break, with Davidson quickly extending the lead by scoring four straight out of halftime en route to her 20-point night. The Trojans outscored the Golden Eagles 21–15 in the third and 21–10 in the fourth, shooting a blistering 57.1 percent in the third period and 66.7 percent in the fourth.
The Trojans (4-2) dominated on both ends, piling up a season-high 15 blocks, their most since 1984. Tennessee Tech finished 21.5 percent from the field and did not record a blocked shot during the game, marking the first USC opponent to go without one since February.
USC's bench again played a major role, outscoring the Golden Eagles 40–9. Jones led the way with 20 while career-best efforts from Laura Williams (four blocks) and Rian Forestier, who matched her career high with six points.
The Women of Troy also posted season highs in field goals made (33), assists (21) and shooting percentages across the board, finishing at 52.4 percent from the field, 44.4 percent from three and 73.3 percent at the line. The Trojans controlled paint points (40–16), bench scoring (40–9), fast-break points (16–8), second-chance points (16–12) and out-rebounded Tennessee Tech 49–38.

Head coach Lindsay Gottlieb
On moving forward after a loss:
"The team took a really tough loss the other night and came back with a concerted effort to be better. The only thing we can do is continue to improve. And what I love about this group is we have so much exciting room for improvement, and I thought we saw some of it tonight."
On Vivian Iwuchukwu's improvement this season:
"[Vivian] really seeks out the feedback. She has been in the gym a ton, and has been very hungry to get better. That progress is showing. She is a great example of continuing to progress. Watch the film, put the work in, and that's when things improve."
On applying what she has learned from teammates:
"Last year, there was such amazing talent in the front court, so that was such a good opportunity for me to be able to learn from them. This year I'm taking what I learned from them, getting in the gym a lot with all the coache, and just trying to do what my coaches need me to do."
On playing at her own pace:
"Playing at my own pace and not letting the defense speed me up is a huge emphasis for me as I'm getting more experience under my belt at this level."
