Outside hitter London Wijay matched her career high with 24 kills in a four-set road win over the Badgers
MADISON, Wis. – The 25th-ranked USC women's volleyball team (13-5, 4-4 Big Ten) toppled No. 9 Wisconsin (13-3, 6-2) in four sets (23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22) at the UW Field House on Sunday, Oct. 19.

- RS So. OH London Wijay matched her career high with 24 kills (4e) and hit .308 on a career-high 65 attacks to go with eight digs, two blocks, and three assists.
- Fr. LIB Taylor Deckert produced her second straight 20-dig match and finished with 25 to go with four assists.
- Fr. S Reese Messer dished out 47 assists and recorded her seventh double-double with 13 digs to go with two kills and two blocks. She set the Trojans to .228 hitting with 64 kills (23e) on 180 swings.
- RS Jr. OH Adonia Faumuina put up 13 kills (5e) on 46 attacks and had three digs and a block.
- Fr. OPP Abigail Mullen scored 17.5 points earned on 12 kills (4e, 28att, .286) and a career-high seven blocks with two service aces. She also tallied six digs and had a pair of assists.
- Sr. DS Dani Thomas-Nathan matched her career high and produced her third-career double-digit digs match with 10. She also had three assists and a service ace.
- So. MB Mia Tvrdy came off the bench and totaled nine kills (4e) on 19 swings to hit .263 and added six blocks.
- Sr. MB Rylie McGinest scored four kills (1e, 10att, .300) and had four blocks, five digs and a service ace.
- For the Badgers, Mimi Colyer led with 23 kills and had 10 digs for the double-double. Una Vajagic had 15 kills and 14 digs. Alicia Andrew and Carter Booth each tallied eight kills apiece. Addy Horner had 46 assists and 10 digs with three blocks.
- The Trojans racked up 12.0 blocks to match the Badgers and reached double-digits for the 10th time this season. USC had more kills (64-59), digs (80-71), service aces (5-1), and hit better (.228 to .223) than the Badgers.
- The teams went back-and-forth antiphonically for 14 ties in the opening set, but Wisconsin prevailed with a 4-3 edge in blocks that would prove to be the difference in a 25-23 win. Wijay led the Trojans with six kills while Faumuina tagged five balls for kills to help USC hit .209 (14k, 5e, 43att) with 13 assists from Messer. Deckert racked five digs in set one while Wijay had three and Thomas-Nathan had two to go with the set's lone service ace.
- USC ripped through a 5-0 run early in set two and then ran ahead by five to hold an 18-13 lead later in the frame. The Badgers wouldn't go away and closed to within a point before USC pocketed a 25-23 win on Wijay's 13th kill of the day. Wijay totaled seven kills in the second set and USC got four from Mullen who also served a pair of aces. Deckert picked up eight more digs while Messer added five to go with nine assists.
- Wisconsin led by as many as three points in set three, but USC caught the Badgers for the seventh tie of the frame at 16-all before it went ahead for good at 20-19. Messer's dump kill made the score 23-21 before she set Tvrdy on the slide whose kill made it 24-22. The Badgers saved one set point before Faumuina's 10th kill of the day sealed a 25-23 win for a 2-1 USC lead in the match. Tvrdy collected six kills in set three and was responsible for the generation of seven USC points. Faumuina and Wijay each had four kills apiece as the Trojans hit .366 (18k, 3e) on 41 swings.
- USC led in the fourth by as many as nine points at 11-2, but the Badgers came roaring back to tie the score at 22-all before USC reeled off the final three points for a 25-22 win. Faumuina had two kills to put USC at the doorstep at 24-22, before Mullen ended a long rally for her 12th kill and the victory. Wijay tallied seven more kills in set four while Mullen had four and Tvrdy added three for a USC team that hit .245 (18k, 6e) on 49 swings.
- USC returns to the friendly confines of Galen Center to close the month of October with three straight home contests. Maryland visits first for a Thursday-night bout (Oct. 23) at 7 p.m. PT and then Washington comes through on Sunday (Oct. 26) for a noon battle. Both will be shown live on Big Ten Plus streams. The Women of Troy close out the month with their second regular-season clash with crosstown rival UCLA on Wednesday (Oct. 29) at 7 p.m. PT. The Battle for LA will be shown live on Big Ten Network.
- USC improved to 4-6 all-time against Wisconsin and won for the first time in the last six meetings to end a five-match streak of losses to the Badgers. The win is USC's first over UW in Madison since 1991.
- The Trojans moved to 4-2 in road matches and go to 8-3 all-time in the state of Wisconsin with a 5-1 mark in Madison.
- USC reached double-digit blocks (12.0) for the 10th time this season.
- Head Coach Brad Keller collected his 98th-career win.
