No. 20 USC Women's Volleyball Opens Big Ten Era with Ohio State, Nebraska

The Trojans have won five matches in a row heading into conference play
LOS ANGELES – The No. 20-ranked USC women's volleyball team (8-2) rides a five-match win streak into its first weekend of conference play as Ohio State (7-3) comes to Galen Center for a Friday-night bout (Sept. 27) at 7 p.m. PT. The Trojans are 35-13 all-time in league openers but will have to turn the page quickly after facing the Buckeyes to take a return trip to the Midwest for a Sunday-night matchup (Sept. 29, 6:30 p.m. CT/4:30 p.m. PT) with No. 2 Nebraska (10-1) at Devaney Center in Lincoln, Neb. Both matches are set to be shown live on Big Ten Network.

B1G AWARDS: Sr. Mia Tuaniga was chosen as the Big Ten Setter of the Week and OH Jadyn Livings was awarded Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors on Sept. 23. The two honors are the first ever earned by Trojan players as members of the Big Ten Conference. For Livings, it is her first weekly award of any kind. Tuaniga takes home her first weekly award since she was tabbed for Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors in 2021.

Sokol Arena as part of a rotating tournament that included USC, Creighton, Kentucky, and Northern Iowa. The Women of Troy made trips to Lincoln in 1985 and 2003.

Freshman LIB/DS Paisley Douglas returned to her hometown of Omaha when the Trojans played in the Creighton Classic (Sept. 5-6). She is the third Trojan with roots in the state. LIB/DS Raegan LeGrand (2016-19) was the first-ever Nebraska native—from Papillion—to wear the Cardinal and Gold. Setter Elle Glock (2021; Wahoo, Neb.) played one season at USC before transferring to Louisville. OH Ally Batenhorst played three seasons at Nebraska before she transferred to join the Women of Troy for the 2024 season. Associate head coach Tyler Hildebrand was an assistant coach for the Cornhuskers for three seasons (2017, '20, '21).
