USC’s Frech Wins 100m Gold At 2024 Paralympics

Set to compete in high jump tomorrow
USC freshman Ezra Frech won the T63 100m dash title to earn a gold medal at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris, France today (Sept. 2). Tomorrow (Sept. 3) he will compete in the T63 high jump.
Frech will compete in the T63 high jump competition tomorrow. Frech holds the world record in the T63 high jump of 6-5.50 (1.97m), set at the 2024 USA Paralympic Trials.
Earlier in the games, Frech placed fifth in the men's T63 long jump final on Aug. 31 with a best jump of 21-7.25/6.58m (+0.9).
Frech is the inaugural Swim With Mike recipient of the Amir Ekbatani Paralympic Scholarship, awarded to a Paralympian attending USC or UCLA. He is in his first semester at USC where he is seeking a bachelor's degree in Business of Cinematic Arts.
Frech won the men's T63 100m gold medal for USA by coming-from-behind to win the title with a PR of 12.06, 0.02 seconds ahead of Daniel Wagner of Denmark. Frech's time was 0.01 seconds off the Paralympics record. Frech advanced to the final yesterday with a previous personal-best of 12.14, which was fourth overall. The T63 designation is the classification for athletes with a single-leg amputation above the knee.Ezra Frech fought all the way to the finish to bring home his first Paralympic gold! 🥇
