USC Lacrosse Alumna Erin Bakes Named to Inaugural U.S. Box Lacrosse Roster

LOS ANGELES – USC alumna Erin Bakes (USC '21) was named to the to the inaugural 23-player team, as announced by USA Lacrosse on Thursday afternoon following a year of player ID and training Camps.
The inaugural team will compete against ten other nations in the Women's Box Championships from Sept. 20-29 in Utica, N.Y. It will mark the first time World Lacrosse hosts the women's box world championship.
USA Lacrosse held three player ID camps from May through August 2023 to begin the player evaluation process. From there, selected athletes were invited to training camps in Utica – the site of the 2024 championships – in Fall 2023 to prepare for international competition, followed by two more camps in Summer 2024.
Bakes will serve as one of the 20 runners on the squad. The USC grad will play as a forward during the event. Bakes completed three-year career at USC with 43 points (31 goals/12 assists), 16 ground balls and 13 draw controls.
