Trojans distribute over 400 backpacks to students at the Barack Obama Charter Elementary School.
In partnership with World Vision, USC Men's Basketball spent Friday, August 23 hosting a back-to-school celebration for all students at the Barack Obama Charter School (BOCS) in Los Angeles.
During the event, USC men's basketball players and coaches distributed over 400 backpacks filled with school essentials to ensure all students have the supplies they need to start the school year off on the right note. All students also had the opportunity to select a complimentary Lego set.
First year USC men's basketball head coach Eric Musselman and assistant coach Will Conroy gave students a welcome back pep talk that centered around the importance of school attendance, active listening and being a leader amongst their peers.
Following the backpack distribution, the Trojans spent time getting to know BOCS students on a more personal level, sharing insights about sports and the value of an education.
