USC Rowing Adds Jake Power As Assistant Coach

Power brings eight years of collegiate coaching experience to Chaudoin’s USC staff.
LOS ANGELES – USC women's rowing head coach Kelsie Chaudoin has announced the addition of the first key member of her staff in assistant coach Jake Power, who brings an extensive set of experience to his role at USC. Power joins Chaudoin to prepare the Women of Troy for the coming 2025 season, where USC will compete as a member of the Big Ten Conference for the first time.
"I am thrilled to have Jake join our staff," Chaudoin said of Power. "He and I have had the opportunity to work together in the past, and I was able to witness his drive and passion for the sport firsthand. He has a strong work ethic and high standards and, without fail, shows up to the boathouse full of energy and ready to go the extra mile to support the team's success. That spirit is contagious to everyone around him, and I am excited about its impact."
Power comes to USC after serving three seasons at UCLA, where he was on staff primarily assisting with the Bruins' first and second fours. Last season, UCLA registered a first-place and two second-place finishes at the 2024 Big Ten Invitational and had a first-place and three second-place finishes at the 2024 Dexter Lake Invitational.

Power's coaching career began as a volunteer assistant coach with the Stanford women's program. While there, he assisted the varsity four crew that placed eighth at the 2018 NCAA Championships. He then spent a season at Loyola Marymount serving as an assistant coach, continuing his work with varsity and novice fours. During his time at LMU, the Lions finished first in the varsity four and second varsity four at the 2019 West Coast Conference, claiming those titles for first time in LMU's history.
A 2016 graduate of University of Virginia and a native of Madison, Wisc., Power holds a bachelor's degree in history from UVA and a master's in management from UCLA.
