14 Trojans to Represent USC Swimming and Diving in Paris for 2024 Olympic Games

Eight men and six Women of Troy will represent 10 different nations.
The USC swimming and diving program will be represented by 14 Trojans in the 2024 Olympic Games, with eight USC men and six women set to represent ten different nations in Paris. Nine of those Trojans were All-Americans and three were NCAA Champions at USC.Â

Of the eight Trojan men headed to Paris, four are two-time Olympians -Vaggelis Makrygianis (Greece), Krzysztof Chmielewski (Poland), Victor Johansson (Sweden) and Nikola Miljenic (Croatia). Joining the veterans are three first-time Olympians – Artem Selin (Germany), Michal Chmielewski (Poland) and incoming Trojan diver Moritz Wesermann (Germany). Trojan Dylan Carter will swim for Trinidad and Tobago for the third time at the Olympics this summer & was recently selected to serve as a flag bearer for the opening ceremonies.Â

On the women's side, three Women of Troy are returning to the Olympic scene, joined by first-timers Laticia Transom (New Zealand), Minna Abraham (Hungary) and incoming Trojan diver Kate Miller (Canada). Polish swimmer Kasia Wilk-Wasick is USC's only five-time Olympian competing in Paris, while this will mark the third Olympic trip for Trojan Louise Hansson and the second for rising 5th year Anicka Delgado. Â

After the Games, USC will have seven Olympians back on campus and in the pool for the coming 2024-25 collegiate season – Abraham, Delgado, M. Chmielewski, K. Chmielewski, Selin, Wesemann and Miller.Â

In addition to USC 14 swimming and diving student-athletes (past, present and future) competing in Paris, Tongan swimmer Noelani Day, a USC human biology is set to make her second Olympic appearance this summer.Â

- Louise Hansson's sister, Sophie, also swam for Sweden in 2016 and is also on the 2024 Swedish team again with Louise.
- Ecuador's Anicka Delgado was coached by her father, Felipe, at the 2020 Games. Felipe Delgado swam in the 1996 and 2000 Olympics for Ecuador.Â
- USC swimming head coach Lea Maurer and USC diving head coach Hongping Li have previous Olympic experience. Maurer won both a gold and bronze medal at the 1992 Games, while Li was a two-time Olympic qualifier (1984 & 1980).Â
