LOS ANGELES – USC lacrosse graduate student attacker Ella Heaney (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City HS) was named to the ILWomen All-American Honorable Mention list, and Heaney with junior defender Alexis Niblock (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport Blue-Point HS) was named to the IWLCA All-West/Midwest Region Second Team on Thursday, May 16.
Heaney-the Pac-12 Attacker of the Year-was selected as a second-team member of the regional squad. Niblock was also chosen as a second-team recipient after earning All-Pac-12 First Team status.
Heaney tallied the most points for the Trojans as she scored 73 points on 43 goals and 30 assists. The attacker was also given Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors three times this season, more than any other attacker. Niblock led the Trojans with 26 caused turnovers and picked up 41 ground balls. The defender was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week twice during the season.
This is the first time that either of these players have been named to the All-Region team. USC players have now received 36 all-region certificates with 17 first-team selections and 19 second teamers.
The Women of Troy (12-5, 6-1 Pac-12) finished the 2024 season in second, falling one game short of Stanford for the regular season conference title. USC missed a bid at the NCAA tournament, as it was one of the first few teams out after finalizing its season in the Pac-12 tournament semifinals.
