USC Lacrosse's Ella Heaney Tagged for Her Second Pac-12 Weekly Award This Season

SAN FRANCISCO – USC lacrosse graduate student attacker Ella Heaney (Garden City, N.Y.) was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Apr. 1-7, the league announced on Monday, Apr. 8; Arizona State's graduate student Zoe Mazur was chosen for the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week award.

Heaney was at the forefront of the offensive showcase against Oregon, as she posted five goals and dished out one assist in the 19-8 road win. The attacker picked up her seventh hat trick of the season and 22nd of her career, which ties her for 4th in program history. Heaney propelled the offense as USC scored its second-most points in series history against the Ducks.

The award is Heaney's third of her career and second this season (Feb. 13, 2024, & Mar. 14, 2023), as she continues the tradition of USC players being honored by the conference. The Women of Troy have claimed two Offensive Player of the Week awards this season and two Defensive Player of the Week awards.

The Pac-12 is in its seventh season of women's lacrosse. The Women of Troy have earned weekly conference honors 39 times (26 defensive and 13 offensive) to rank first among league schools. Stanford sits second with 34 awards. Colorado currently has 32, and Arizona State follows that with 25. Oregon (6), California (2) and UC Davis (1) round out the group.

USC (10-3, 4-0 Pac-12) is back next weekend in a battle of the top two teams in the conference. It will head to Stanford at 1 p.m. PT on Saturday, Apr. 13, at Maloney Field in Stanford, Calif.
