USC Lacrosse's Alexis Niblock Tagged for Her Second Career Pac-12 Weekly Award

The junior posted her best game statistically as she set a career-high in ground balls (5) and caused turnovers (4) in the win over Towson
SAN FRANCISCO – USC lacrosse junior defender Alexis Niblock (Bayport, N.Y.) was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 26-Mar. 3, the league announced on Tuesday, Mar. 5; UC Davis' junior attacker Grace Gebhardt was chosen for the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week award.
Niblock had one of the best performances of her career this weekend as she picked up nine ground balls and caused four turnovers in two games. The junior defender posted two career highs against Towson (Mar. 1) as she caused four turnovers and picked up five ground balls in the 11-5 victory. She only added to her totals in game two, picking up four more ground balls against No. 15 Johns Hopkins.
The award is Niblock's second (Mar. 14, 2023), as she continues the tradition of USC players being honored by the conference. The Women of Troy have claimed two of the first four conference Defensive Player of the Week awards.
The Pac-12 is in its seventh season of women's lacrosse. The Women of Troy have earned weekly conference honors 38 times (27 defensive and 11 offensive) to rank first among league schools. Colorado sits second with 31 awards. Stanford currently has 28, and Arizona State follows that with 23. Oregon (6), California (2) and UC Davis (1) round out the group.
USC (5-2) hosts another upcoming non-conference game as it welcomes Temple (5-2) to sunny SoCal for a 1 p.m. game on Friday, Mar. 8, at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.
