No. 21 USC Men’s Swimming and Diving Wraps First Day of Action at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - Three Trojan swimmers and two divers saw action during the second day of competition at the 2024 Men's NCAA Swim and Dive Championships.

All three swimmers earned their highest career NCAA finishes in their respective events. Freshman Krzysztof Chmielewski, making his NCAA debut, finished 29th overall in the 500y free in 4:16.06. Senior Ben Dillard, the USC record holder in the 200y IM, placed 43rd overall in the event with a time of 1:45.01. Junior Artem Selin rounded out the individual action in the pool on Thursday, placing 24th overall in the 50y free in 19.16.

Competing on the 1-meter springboard, junior Shangfei Wang placed 34th with a score of 300.80, with sophomore Laurent Gosselin-Paradis finishing 40th with 283.40 points.

With the second day of competition complete, USC sits just outside of the top-20, with no points as of yet.

Action continues tomorrow with men's swimming prelims slated to begin at 7 a.m. PST. Men's 3-meter diving prelims will begin at 9 a.m. PST.
