Trojan Rally Comes Up Just Short at UCLA

WESTWOOD, Calif. – The USC baseball team rallied back from a 5-0 deficit, but couldn't complete the comeback against UCLA on Saturday afternoon, falling 7-6 to the Bruins.
The Trojans scored two runs with two outs in the ninth, but left the tying run on base. USC moves to 8-14 overall with the loss and 4-4 in Pac-12 play, while UCLA improves to 8-12 overall and 3-5 in Pac-12 play.
USC faced a 5-0 deficit heading into the sixth, but scored four runs on four hits and one Bruin error. Brayden Dowd and Carson Wells each had RBI in the inning, with Wells doubling home two.
UCLA responded with two runs in the bottom half of the sixth, and the Bruin bullpen kept the Trojans quiet until the ninth, when Jacob Galloway doubled home a run. Ryan Jackson followed with a two-out single to bring home Galloway, but he was stranded on first to end the game.
