No. 16 USC Rowing Lines Up for Tri-Meet Against UCLA and LMU

This is the Women of Troy’s first official meet of the spring season.
LOS ANGELES – The USC Women's Rowing team is set to challenge UCLA and LMU in a tri-meet at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, at UCLA's Boathouse in Marina Del Ray. This is the Women of Troy's first official meet of the spring season.
The tri-meet will begin at 8:15 a.m. as the Second Varsity Four hits the water first. The Third Varsity Eight will race at 8:30 a.m., and the Varsity Four will follow at 8:45 a.m. Then, the Second Varsity Eight will race at 9:00, and finally, the Varsity Eight will close out the morning with the final race at 9:15 a.m. PT.
UCLA and LMU are unranked in the Pocock CRCA Coaches Week 1 Coaches Poll. The Trojans competed in a successful scrimmage against LMU on Saturday, Feb. 10, but the results of this scrimmage were not released. In 2023, USC swept the Bruins in each scored category, making the final score 7-0.
Should the Trojans beat UCLA in the tri-meet, they will be presented with the Amy Fuller Kearney – Lori Guerro Azbill Trophy. The Trojans claimed the inaugural trophy in the 2022 UCLA Dual and the 2023 Dual. This trophy is set to honor long-time late former UCLA coach Amy Fuller Kearny and former USC assistant coach Lori Guerro Azbill. The presentation of the Amy Fuller Kearney-Lori Guerro Azbill Trophy for the UCLA-USC competition will occur immediately after the meet.
To highlight the year-long all-sports competition between crosstown rivals USC and UCLA, the Crosstown Cup (formerly Gauntlet Trophy) has been awarded annually since 2001-02 to the school with the most successful athletic year against the other. Points are awarded to each Trojan-Bruin head-to-head contest winner, and the Crosstown Cup is awarded to the school with the most points at year's end. USC has won the Crosstown Cup 13 times in the competition's 17 years: 2001-02, 2003-04, 2005-06, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2013-14, 2015-16, 2018-19, 2020-21, and 2022-23.
