USC Baseball Takes Series with 10-4 Win Over Portland

IRVINE, Calif. – The USC baseball team took the series from Portland with a 10-4 win over the Pilots on Sunday afternoon in Irvine.
The Trojans posted a season high in runs and hits a day after picking up their first win on a walkoff. USC moves to 2-5 on the season, while Portland falls to 3-3.
The Trojan offense got going early, putting up two runs in the first inning and then five in the third to grab a 7-1 lead through three innings. While Portland would score in the second, fifth and eighth innings, the Pilots never got closer than within four runs.
Ryan Jackson and Carson Wells each had two-hit days as seven different USC players hit safely in the contest. Jackson and Wells each had two-RBI games.
Michael Ebner picked up the win on the mound after tossing 2.0 scoreless relief innings. The USC bullpen gave up one run on the day. Joey Gartrell took the loss for Portland.
