USC Baseball's Rally Falls Short at LMU

LOS ANGELES – The USC baseball team's rally came up just short on the road at Loyola Marymount on Tuesday night, as the Trojans fell 5-3 to the Lions.
USC falls to 0-4 on the season, while LMU moves to 3-1 with the victory.
The Lions jumped on top with three runs on a pair of homers in the first inning and would tack a fourth on in the third to take a 4-0 lead.
Jacob Galloway was once again USC's offensive catalyst, hitting a solo-shot to get USC on the board in the fourth. The Trojans would add a second run in the inning on a Kevin Takeuchi double. The deficit was cut to one run in the fifth when Dean Carpentier scored on a wild pitch.
That was it for the Trojans, however, as LMU would score one in the bottom of the eighth and USC had no answer in the ninth.
