USC Baseball Drops 8-1 to Grand Canyon

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The USC baseball team fell to Grand Canyon on Saturday night, dropping an 8-1 decision in its second game of the season.
USC falls to 0-2 after a loss to BYU on Friday night as well. Grand Canyon moves to 2-0.
GCU put up three runs in the first, one of which was unearned, but USC starter Tyler Stromsborg settled in after that and tossed three scoreless before exiting the contest.
Jacob Galloway got the Trojans on the board in the fifth inning with a mammoth solo-shot to make it a 3-1 game. Grand Canyon's Beau Ankeney answered with a solo-homer in the top of the sixth to again make it a three-run game. The 'Lopes would add a run in the eighth and three in the ninth.
