Trojans Outdueled by Ohio State in Desert Invitational Finale

MESA, Ariz. – The USC baseball team fell in its MLB Desert Invitational Finale, losing 5-2 to Ohio State.
USC falls to 0-3 after the loss, while the Buckeyes move to 2-1.
The Trojans grabbed the early lead on Sunday night, getting an RBI double from Luca DiPaolo in the fourth. DiPaolo later scored on an error to make it a 2-0 USC lead.
OSU would get a run back in the bottom half of the inning and then scored two in the fifth to take the lead for good. Two more runs down the stretch put it out of reach for the Trojans.
USC put a runner on in the ninth when Jacob Galloway doubled to center field, but that was it for the rally.

USC has a pair of midweek contests on the docket, facing UC San Diego in a home game at LMU on Tuesday, and then a road matchup against LMU on Wednesday.
