USC's Boogie Ellis Named Top 10 Candidate For 2024 Jerry West Award

One of 10 players named among the nations' top shooting guards
 USC guard Boogie Ellis was named a Top 10 candidate for the 2024 Jerry West Award which recognizes the top collegiate shooting guards, it was announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame today (Jan. 30). The annual award is named in honor of 1980 Hall of Famer and 1959 NCAA Final Four MVP Jerry West.
The fifth-year guard Ellis leads USC with an 18.1 points per game average and has averaged 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in his first 16 games played this season. He also has made 45.3 percent of his three-point attempts which ranks seventh in the country and averages 3.31 three-pointers made per game which ranks 10th nationally. Ellis is one of three Power 6 players averaging at least 18.1 points, 3.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game this season.
Ellis currently ranks seventh all-time on USC's career three-point baskets made list with 192 and 23rd on the Trojans' all-time scoring chart with 1,285 points scored as a Trojan. He has scored 20 or more points in eight of his 16 games played this season, with a season-best of 28 points three times.
