USC Lacrosse’s Claudia Shevitz, Isabelle Vitale and Catherine Lord Selected to USA Magazine’s Preseason All-American Honorable Mention List

The three players selected to the list make up three of the five Trojans selected to the Pac-12 All-Conference First Team last season
SPARKS, Md. - USC Lacrosse had three players earn a spot on the USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American list as senior Claudia Shevitz (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier HS), redshirt junior Isabelle Vitale (Lloyd Harper, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor HS) and junior Catherine Lord (Denver/Regis Jesuit HS) were selected to the Honorable Mention list; the publication announced Wednesday, Jan. 17.
All three players played a pivotal role, as Pac-12 First Team All-Conference members, in the program's success last season, which cultivated in a Pac-12 championship and an NCAA appearance. Shevitz is the group's headliner, as she earned recognition as the Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year and finished the season on the same publication's All-American Honorable Mention list. In 2023, the midfielder compiled 41 points (36 goals; 5 assists), picked up 20 groundballs and accumulated 27 draw controls.
Vitale comes into this new season as a fundamental piece of the offensive attack, as she has finished second in goal-scoring for the Trojans for the past two years. Last year, the attacker claimed 37 goals and added 35 assists, which put her as the top point-getter on the squad with 72. On the flip side, Lord anchors the defensive front this season, as she will be the heart of the transition game. Last season, Lord pulled out three Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week awards, as she compiled 76 draw controls, forced 21 turnovers and picked up 31 groundballs.
