Chmielewski and Gosselin-Paradis claim conference honors following big weekend of competition.
LOS ANGELES - USC swimmer Michal Chmielewski and diver Laurent Gosselin-Paradis capped up a successful weekend of competition with Pac-12 weekly honors, as announced by the conference on Tuesday, Jan. 16. This marks the first such honor for both Trojans.
Chmielewski claimed the conference's Men's Swimmer of the Week title following a four-win performance against UC San Diego. The sole Trojan to record three individual event wins, the Polish powerhouse claimed the 100y fly (48.41), 100y back (48.52) and 1000y free (9:28.73). The freshman also swam a 21.48 50y fly split to help the Trojans capture a 200y medley relay win.
Across town at the Bruin Diving Invitational, sophomore Gosselin-Paradis took home the 3-meter event (734.65 points) and went on to capture third on platform (744.05). He was also fifth on 1-meter and contributed to the Trojans 'team event' win.
