September 28, 2023 | Women's Rowing
LOS ANGELES — The USC women's rowing team announced its 2023-24 competition schedule on Thursday, Sept. 28.
Â
The Women of Troy open the fall season Oct. 22-23 in Boston at the historic Head of the Charles.
Â
The Trojans have their first head race of the season on Nov. 4 against reigning NCAA champion Stanford at USC's home course, the Port of Los Angeles. After racing the Farm, USC heads south for the San Diego Fall Classic on Nov. 12.
Â
Spring racing kicks off with a scrimmage against Loyola Marymount (Feb. 10) at the Port. On Mar. 16, the Trojans host crosstown rival UCLA for a home dual. USC and UCLA will race for the Amy Fuller Kearney-Lori Guerrero Azbill Trophy in Marina Del Ray. In 2023, the Trojans swept the Bruins in a 7-0 victory. The Women of Troy will then face Stanford in a dual on Mar. 30.
Â
Up next, the Trojans return to Mission Bay for the 50th annual San Diego Crew Classic (Apr. 6-7). A week later, the Trojans visit the Northeast for the Ivy League Invitational (Apr. 12-13) in Princeton, N.J. With another quick turnaround, USC ventures to Eugene, Ore., for the Dexter Lake Invitational (Apr. 27).
Â
The Pac-12 Championships are set for May 19 at Gold River, Calif. NCAA championships will take place May 31 to June 2 in Bethel, Ohio.
Â
In 2022-23, USC made its second of back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Championships and finished 16th with 42 points. Under sixth-year head coach Josh Adam, the Women of Troy claimed a fourth-place finish at the Pac-12 Championships and had junior Zoe McCutcheon named to the All-Conference Team. The Trojans swept crosstown rival UCLA in the annual rivalry dual to open the spring and improved to 20-1 all-time in head-to-head meetings with the Bruins. USC was ranked for much of the season in the Pocock CRCA Poll.
