September 22, 2023 | Women's Lacrosse
LOS ANGELES - USC saw three alumane named to the 2024 U.S. Women's Box Training Team following a series of three player ID camps held from May through August.
Trojan alum's Erin Bakes, Izzy McMahon and Finley Ueland will participate in three training camps this fall as it continues preparation for the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica. N.Y.
All three of these players played alongside each other during the majority of their careers as Bakes finished her career with the Trojans in '21, McMahon in '21 and Ueland in '22. As a core, these players helped push USC to a perfect 6-0 during the 2020 season before it was canceled due to the pandemic. In the 2021 season, the Trojans finished 9-7 overall and 6-3 in conference before Ueland helped led the squad to a 13-5 overall record and a NCAA berth in '22.
McMahon proved to be one of the most prolific weapons for the Trojans, as she pieced together a 52 point (31 goals; 21 assists) season in her final year with USC. Overall, the trio of alumnae produced 126 games played, 223 points, 80 ground balls, 22 caused turnovers and recorded 91 draw controls in their careers.
The U.S. women's box team training camps will all be held at St. Luke's Sport Center in Whitehall, Pa., on the weekends of Nov. 4-5, Dec. 2-3 and Dec. 16-17. It's the first time that World Lacrosse has hosted a women's championship in box lacrosse.
