USC Women's Volleyball's Skylar Fields Named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week

The Trojans’ senior OH was chosen as the Most Outstanding Player of the Trojan Invitational
SAN FRANCISCO – USC women's volleyball senior OH Skylar Fields (Missouri City, Texas/Ridge Point HS) was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 4-10, the Conference announced on Monday, Sept. 11.
Fields collects her fifth-career Pac-12 weekly award (she had four in 2022) and brings home the 87th all-time weekly award won by a Trojan. Since 2011, when the Pac-12 began honoring separate offensive and defensive players of the week and introduced a freshman award, Women of troy have earned 28 offensive awards, 13 defensive awards, and 21 freshman honors. Freshman of the Week awards are no counted in the overall total of a school's weekly awards.
Fields was chosen as the Trojan Invitational's Most Outstanding Player and was named to the all-tournament team for helping power the USC offense to three victories at Galen Center this weekend: 3-0 sweeps over UC Davis and Marist, and a 3-1 win over San Diego. She posted her sixth and seventh matches in double-digit kills and set a new career high of 28 kills in USC's four-set win over the Toreros. Fields also picked up her first double-double of the season in that match with 12 digs for the 11th double-double of her career. On the season, Fields is averaging 5.14 kills per set to lead the Pac-12 and picks up 2.07 digs per set on defense.
The Women of Troy (4-4) are headed to West Lafayette, Ind., for the Boilermaker Challenge this week. USC takes on Illinois (3-4) and host No. 17 Purdue (5-2) at Holloway Gymnasium on Thursday (Sept. 14) and Friday (Sept. 15) respectively. Both matches will be shown live on the Big Ten Network.
