No. 10 USC Men's Tennis Advances To NCAA Super Regional With 4-1 Victory Over San Diego

Trojans advance to Round of 16 for the 15th consecutive time in school history.
Los Angeles, Calif. - No. 10 USC men's tennis topped San Diego on Saturday afternoon at Marks Stadium, handing the Toreros a 4-1 loss to advance to the NCAA Round of 16.
The Trojans got on the board first after two quick points in doubles play. No. 45 Bradley Frye and Learner Tien defeated Stian Klaussen and Oliver Tarvet 6-1 on court two, followed by Stefan Dostanic and Ryan Colby on court three who logged a 6-2 victory over Lambert Ruland and Marvin Schaber.
San Diego bounced back in singles play, evening the score after No. 25 Dostanic was defeated 6-1, 6-3 on center court by No. 84 Iiro Vasa. Frye regained the lead for the Trojans soon after, defeating Klaussen 6-1, 6-3 on court five to make the score 2-1. No. 109 Wojtek Marek grabbed the third point for USC with a 6-3, 6-0 victory of Schaber on court four, and No. 39 Peter Makk clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-4 victory on court three over Sacchitt Sharma.
When play paused, Lodewijk Weststrate led 7-6 (4), 5-2 on court six, and Learner Tien narrowly trailed 4-6, 5-2 on court two.
With their victory, the Trojans now set their sights on next weekend's Super Regional, with Troy. This marked the 15th consecutive season Troy has reached the Super Regional (with the exception of 2020 when the NCAA tournament was not held). The Trojans will face either No. 7 Michigan or No. 29 Cal.
