USC Lacrosse's Emma Wightman and Claudia Shevitz Earn Inside Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention

Wightman was tabbed Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, and Shevitz was given Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year honors
BALTIMORE, Md. - USC lacrosse graduate transfer Emma Wightman (Basking Ridge, N.J./Florida) and junior Claudia Shevitz (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier HS) received Inside Lacrosse All-America honorable mention status as voted on by members of the national lacrosse media on Thursday, May 18.
Both players were given the Pac-12 award for their respective positions, All-Conference first-team honors and were named to the IWLCA All-West/Midwest Regional squad. Wightman claimed the Trojans' second consecutive Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year award, and Shevitz continued the tradition of USC players being given the Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year award. Wightman ranked second in the Pac-12 and for USC with 41 caused turnovers on the season. Her mark of 2.00 caused turnovers per game put her tied for 20th in the NCAA. Wightman was one of the focal points of a defense that ranked fifth in the NCAA for scoring defense (8 goals per game). Shevitz placed third on the squad with 36 goals and posted 41 total points. The midfielder also provided support defensively with ten caused turnovers, 20 groundballs and 27 draw controls.
The Women of Troy (16-4, 9-1 Pac-12) topped the Pac-12 conference, claiming the regular season title for the third time in program history. USC earned a trip to the NCAA tournament for the sixth time after winning its second Pac-12 tournament title. 11th-year head coach Lindsey Munday (139-58, .706) earned Pac-12 coach of the year after leading the Trojans to a near-perfect conference season.
