USC Lacrosse Plates Four Trojans on the IWLCA All-Region List

The Women of Troy's Emma Wightman, Olivia Dooley, Claudia Shevitz and Isabelle Vitale all took home All-Region Nominations ahead of their sixth NCAA Tournament appearance
DENVER – USC lacrosse graduate transfer defender Emma Wightman (Basking Ridge, N.J./Florida), senior Olivia Dooley (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset HS), junior Claudia Shevitz (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier HS) and redshirt sophomore Isabelle Vitale (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor HS) were named to the IWLCA All-West/Midwest Region Teams on Thursday, May 11
Wightman-the Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year-was selected as a first-team member of the regional squad. Shevitz-the Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year-Dooley and Vitale were all chosen as second-team recipients. All four of these Trojans garnered All-Pac-12 status on May 2.
Wightman makes her second-career appearance on the IWLCA All-Region squad, as she was tabbed as a second-team member of the All-South Regional squad at Florida in 2022. Dooley reenters herself onto the All-West/Midwest Regional List, as she was picked for first-team honors in 2022. Shevitz and Vitale are both first-time choices for the honor. All four players are now eligible for consideration to be selected for All-American honors. USC players have now received 34 all-region certificates with 17 first-team selections and 17 second teamers.
The Women of Troy (16-3) are in Denver to take on undefeated No. 5 Denver (19-0) in the first round of the NCAA tournament at 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT) on Friday, May 12, at Peter Barton Stadium. Both first-round and second-round matchups will take place in Denver, with both games being streamed live on ESPN+. USC clinched the Pac-12's automatic berth after winning the conference postseason tournament, marking the sixth time the Women of Troy have made it to the NCAA Tournament.
