USC Baseball's Tyler Stromsborg Named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week

LOS ANGELES – USC baseball's Friday night ace, Tyler Stromsborg, was named the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week after tossing a complete-game shutout against Utah this past weekend.

Stromsborg led the Trojans to their fourth straight Pac-12 series win, shutting down the Utes for a 4-0 victory on Friday night. He is the first USC pitcher to toss a complete-game shutout since Connor Lunn in 2019.

The Trojan righty only needed 101 pitches to set a new career high in innings pitched, scattering five hits and two walks, while striking out four batters. Stromsborg has upped his career high in innings pitched each of his last three starts, guiding USC to a series opening win each of the last three Friday's.

For the season, Stromsborg is 3-1, leading the team with 43.1 innings pitched and 38 strikeouts. As a team, the Trojans are 16-10-1 overall and 9-3 in the Pac-12. USC has won 11 of its last 14 games and it's four straight conference series wins are the first for a Trojan team since 2001.

The Trojans have four home games over the next five days, hosting LMU on Tuesday and San Diego State Thursday-Saturday.
