CORVALLIS, Ore. --Freshman Bryce Grudzielanek went 2-for-4, but the USC Trojans still came up short on Sunday, and fell to the Oregon State Beavers by a final of 6-3.
Freshman Eric Hammond (2-3) started and took the loss on the mound for USC (21-13-1, 9-6). Sophomore Josh Blum was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one shutout inning while allowing one hit, walking none and striking out one.
Grudzielanek led the way offensively for the Trojans, going 2-for-4 in the ballgame. Senior Adrian Colon-Rosado put together a noteworthy effort as well, going 1-for-4 with a double. Senior Johnny Olmstead also helped out, going 1-for-3 for USC with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans were trailing 3-0 in the fifth inning when they first put runs on the board. Senior Nick Lopez came across to score the lone run of the inning for USC and get them on the board.
