USC's Elias Gerald Wins High Jump, Christine M. Mallard Takes Second In 400m At The Mt. SAC Relays

Trojans open with a strong day at the Mt. SAC Relays
Elias Gerald won the men's high jump "Section B" and Christine M. Mallard placed second in the 400m to highlight USC's efforts at the Mt. SAC Relays held at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif. today (April 14). Â

- Elias Gerald won the men's Collegiate Open "Section B" high jump with a clearance of 6-10.75 (2.10m).
- Christine M. Mallard placed second in the women's Collegiate/Open 400m race with a time of 52.25. It was her first collegiate outdoor 400m race and is just off her PR of 52.12. Kimberly Harris placed seventh with a time of 52.82, her best time since the 2021 NCAA West Preliminary Rounds.
- Dallas Wise placed fifth in the men's Collegiate/Open triple jump competition with a PR of 50-9.25/15.47m (+1.5).
- Karlee Freeman placed sixth in the women's Collegiate/Open discus throw with a mark of 172-4 (52.54m).
- Michael Phillippy placed sixth in the men's Collegiate/Open 400m race with a time of 47.02.
- Jassani Carter placed seventh in the women's College/Open 100m dash with a time of 11.71 (+0.2) in the final. Earlier in the day she ran 11.60 (+0.2) to advance to the final.
- Lauren Reed placed seventh in the women's Collegiate/Open long jump competition with a strong series of jumps. Her best jump of the day was a wind-aided 19-9.75/6.04m (+2.9w). She also set a legal PR with a jump of 19-9.00/6.02m (+0.0) in the first round. All six of her jumps were over 19 feet and she had four legal jumps which surpassed her previous PR of 19-7.00.
- Maci Simmons placed eighth in the women's Collegiate/Open 400m hurdles with a time of 59.89 and Breanna Bernard-Joseph was ninth with a season-best time of 60.08.
- Ashlee Gallegos placed eighth in the women's Collegiate/Open 1500m race with a PR of 4:33.60.
- Janiah Brown placed 10th in the women's 800m race with a season-best time of 2:09.12. Alyssa Blockburger was 14th with a time of 2:20.78.
