USC’s Boogie Ellis, Drew Peterson Named To Pac-12 Men’s Basketball All-Conference First Team

Dixon-Waters Sixth Person Of The Year; Morgan & Johnson All-Defensive Team, White All-Freshman Team
USC senior guard Boogie Ellis and fifth-year guard Drew Peterson were named to the 2023 Pac-12 All-Conference first team it was announced by the Conference today (March 7). Additionally, sophomore guard Reese Dixon-Waters was named the 2023 Pac-12 Sixth-Player of the Year, sophomore guard Kobe Johnson and redshirt junior forward Joshua Morgan were named to the 2023 Pac-12 All-Defensive Team and freshman guard Tre White was named to the All-Freshman Team.
Ellis finished the regular season averaging a team-leading 18.1 points with a Pac-12-leading 81 three-pointers made. Ellis was also second among Pac-12 players in scoring, sixth in total steals (44), seventh in free throw percentage (80.1), seventh in three-point percentage (39.1) and tied for 12th in assists (93). Ellis reached double figures in scoring in 27 of USC's 31 games, with a season high of 35 points scored vs. Arizona on March 2. In USC's final six regular season games, the San Diego native averaged 25.8 points. Ellis was Pac-12 honorable mention in 2022.
Peterson was second in scoring among Trojans with a 14.1 average and led the team in rebounds (194) and assist (139). Among Pac-12 players, the Libertyville, Ill. native ranked 10th in total rebounds and fifth in total assists. Peterson scored in double figures in 24 games and had 11 games with at least eight rebounds, including posting a team-leading five double-doubles. Peterson was one of two players in the Power 6 conferences to average at least 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists during the regular season. This is the second Pac-12 First-Team honor for Peterson.
Dixon-Waters averaged 9.5 points while playing in 27 games, 19 coming off the bench. The native of Long Beach also was fourth in three-pointers made among Trojans with 21 and fourth in steals with 21.
Johnson had a team-leading 69 steals which ranked second among all Pac-12 Players. That total ranks tied for fourth on USC's all-time single-season steals list and tied for 14th in the country this season. The Milwaukee, Wisc. averaged 8.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and had 80 assists, while playing in all 31 games and making 27 starts.
Morgan led the Pac-12 with a 2.30 blocks per game average (62 total), which ranked 13th in the country. His block total also ranks 10th on USC's all-time single-season list. The Sacramento native played in 27 games, making 26 starts, and he averaged 6.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
White averaged 8.9 points and 5.1 rebounds while playing in all 31 games, making 27 starts. The freshman from Dallas, Texas was fourth among Trojans in scoring and second in rebounding. White scored a season-high 22 points on Feb. 2 vs. Washington and scored at least 7 points in 23 games.
