USC Diving's Shangfei Wang Finishes Runner-Up on 3-Meter at NCAA Championships

Trojan diver Shangfei Wang came just short of an NCAA individual title on Friday, March 24., finishing as runner up on 3-meter to highlight USC's performance at the NCAA Swim and Dive Championships in Minneapolis, Minn.
Trojan sophomore Wang had another night of outstanding diving, finishing as the runner-up on 3-meter with 448.30 points. The springboard specialist was the only Pac-12 diver to reach the podium today and USC's first podium finish on 3-meter in over a decade. With his finish, Wang becomes a two-time first team All-American, having earned his first honors last night on 1-meter.
USC's lone swimmer in action today, Chris O'Grady, raced in the 100y breaststroke, clocking a 52.52 to finish 34th.
On 3-meter, senior George Korovin finished 17th, just missing the consolation final but posting a career high finish in the event (previous best finish was 34th). Korovin, who won the Pac-12 men's 3-meter title a few weeks ago, tallied 364.50 points during prelims.
Tomorrow action at the men's NCAA Swim and Dive Championships concludes with prelims scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. pacific time, followed by finals at 4 p.m. Platform diving prelims with begin at 10 a.m. ESPN+ will provide all NCAA coverage.
