USC Men's Basketball Makes 3rd Straight NCAA Tournament Appearance, Faces Michigan State In Columbus
March 12, 2023 | Men's Basketball
LOS ANGELES — USC has made it to 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament for the third straight season and the Trojans' 20th appearance overall, the NCAA announced Sunday.
USC (22-10, 14-6 Pac-12) will enter the NCAA Tournament as the 10-seed in the East Region and will face seven-seed Michigan State in Columbus, Ohio on Friday at 9:15am PT on CBS.
It is just the second time that the USC has made it to the NCAA Tournament in three straight years. The Trojans previously made three consecutive appearances between 2007-09.
USC has won a school-record 95 games over the last four seasons (22 in 2020, 25 in 2021, 26 in 2022 and 22 in 2023). The four consecutive seasons of 20+ wins sets a school record for most consecutive 20-win seasons, breaking the mark of three consecutive seasons with 20 or more wins from 2016-18.
USC's 95 total wins the last four seasons are the sixth-most among all Power 6 basketball programs, trailing only the last two NCAA champions Kansas (108) and Baylor (103), as well as Arizona (99), UCLA (97) and Duke (96). Also, USC's 182 wins the last eight seasons ranks 13th among all Power 6 conference teams.
