USC Women's Volleyball's Skylar Fields Racks Up Third Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week Award

The Trojan senior becomes the 10th player in league history to earn Player of the Week laurels seven or more times in a career
SAN FRANCISCO – USC women's volleyball senior OH Skylar Fields (Missouri City, Texas/Ridge Point HS) was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 30-Nov. 5, the Conference announced on Monday, Nov. 6.
It is Fields' third award this season and the seventh of her career, which makes her just the 10th player in league history to have been named Pac-12 Player of the Week seven or more times. The only USC athlete with more weekly awards is three-time All-American OH Samantha Bricio (2012-15) who had nine in her illustrious career.
Fields' seventh-career award is the 89th all-time for USC. Since 2011, when the Pac-12 began honoring separate offensive and defensive players of the week and introduced a freshman award, Women of Troy have earned 30 offensive awards, 13 defensive awards, and 24 freshman honors. Freshman awards are not included as part of the total awards won by schools.
Fields averaged 8.00 kills per set while hitting .442 and posted an astonishing 8.25 points per set in USC's wins over Arizona and 15th-ranked Arizona State. In the second set against the Sun Devils, she eclipsed the 2,000-career kill mark and finished the day at 20th on USC's career kills list in under two seasons (1,091 kills as a Trojan). Fields had 24 kills in back-to-back matches to lead USC to its first pair of 3-0 over Pac-12 opponents on the same weekend since 2018 and produced her 52nd and 53rd double-digit kills match as a Trojan. She scored over 20 kills for the 31st and 32nd time. Fields had 12 kills in a set against Arizona and scored 10 kills in a set against Arizona State. This season, she leads the Pac-12 in kills (493), kills per set (5.14 kps), points (535.0), and points per set (5.60 pps).
The 25th-ranked Trojans (16-8, 10-4 Pac-12) are tied for third in the league standings as they head to the Pacific Northwest for matches at Washington (14-11, 5-9) on Friday (Nov. 10) and ninth-ranked Washington State (19-6, 9-5) on Sunday (Nov. 12). The Trojans and the Huskies will be shown on Pac-12 Insider while the USC-WSU match will be streamed on the WSU live stream platform.
