Collier Named Pac-12 Men's Freshman Of The Week Again

Guard averaged 23.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in USC's two games
USC point guard Isaiah Collier was named Pac-12 Men's Freshman of the Week for the week of Nov. 13-19, it was announced by the conference today (Nov. 20). It was Collier's second consecutive selection and the Trojans now have had 13 student-athletes named Pac-12 Men's Freshman of the Week since the award's inception, more than any other conference school.
Collier helped the Trojans split a pair of games during the week by averaging 23.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. He made 42.9 percent of this three-point attempts (3-for-7) and 76.2 percent of his free throws (16-for-21) for the week.
With the Trojans playing without team captains Boogie Ellis and Kobe Johnson in the 70-60 loss to UC Irvine on Nov. 14, Collier scored a team-high 23 points. In the 81-70 win over Brown on Nov. 19, Collier scored a season-best 24 points and had three rebounds and three assists.
Collier is tied for the team lead with a 21.0 scoring average, while averaging 3.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. He is tied for the Division I lead in scoring average among freshmen and is also first in free throws made (25) among freshmen players.
Collier has scored 84 points through USC's first four games, the most by a Trojan freshman since O.J. Mayo totaled 97 points in the first four games of the 2007-08 season.
The Trojans will be playing this week at the Rady Children's Invitational in San Diego, Calif. USC will face Seton Hall on Nov. 23 at 2:30 p.m. in the first round of the tournament. The Trojans will then take on Iowa or Oklahoma the next day. If USC were to face Iowa, the game will start at 3:00 p.m. and if they face Oklahoma, the game will begin at 12:30 p.m..
