USC Rowing Travels 16 Boats to San Diego Fall Classic

LOS ANGELES — USC women's rowing will send sixteen boats to compete in the San Diego Fall Classic in Mission Bay on Sunday (Nov. 12). The Women of Troy will enter three boats in the Women's 8+, two boats in the Women's Open 1x, one boat in the Women's Open Frosh/Novice, six boats in the Women's Open 2-, and four boats in the Women's Open 4+.
In 2021, USC placed first in four of their five races. The Women of Troy won the Women's Frosh/Novice 8+, the Women's Open 1x, the Women's Open 2- and the Women's Open 4+ categories.
The Trojans' Women's Open 8+ A, B, and C boats will start the day for the Trojans 7:45 a.m. PST on Saturday (Nov. 12). They will compete against boats from San Diego, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, and Arizona State.
USC's Women's 1x A and B boats race at 8:30 a.m. PST. These boats will race against boats from San Diego, San Diego Rowing Club, and Long Beach Rowing Association.
USC's Women's Frosh/Novice starts racing at 9:10 a.m. PST. The Trojans will race against boats from UC San Diego and Arizona State.
USC's Women's 2- A, B, C, D, E, and F boats will race at 10:10 p.m. PST. The Women of Troy will race against boats from San Diego.
USC's Women's 4+ A B, C, and D boats race at 10:45 a.m. They will race against San Diego, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, and Arizona State.
In 2022-23, USC made its second of back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Championships and finished 16th with 42 points. Under sixth-year head coach Josh Adam, the Women of Troy claimed a fourth-place finish at the Pac-12 Championships and had junior Zoe McCutcheon named to the All-Conference Team. The Trojans swept crosstown rival UCLA in the annual rivalry dual to open the spring and improved to 20-1 all-time in head-to-head meetings with the Bruins. USC was ranked for much of the season in the Pocock CRCA Poll.
