USC's Isaiah Collier Named To 2024 Bob Cousy Award Watch List

One of two freshman to make the 20-player list of the nation's top point guards
USC point guard Isaiah Collier was named to the 2024 Bob Cousy Award Watch List which recognizes the top collegiate point guards, it was announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame today (Oct. 23). Collier was one of two freshmen named to the 20-player list of the nation's Division I elite point guards.
"The point guards that have been named to the 2024 Bob Cousy Award Watch List truly embody the skills and characteristics that made Bob Cousy the 'Houdini of the Hardwood,'" said John L. Doleva,President and CEO of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. "We look forward to watching their leadership and play-making abilities take center stage and working alongside Bob Cousy and the selection committee to narrow down the watch list throughout the season."
The freshman point guard Collier, the consensus No. 1 recruit in the 2023 class, was named in high school as the 2022-23 Naismith Player of the Year, the MaxPreps Player of the Year and the Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year. As a senior, Collier averaged 19.6 points, 6.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game for Wheeler High in Georgia. Collier was a 2022-23 McDonald's All-American and went on to become co-MVP at the McDonald's All-American Game, as he scored a game-high 25 points.
Previous winners of the Bob Cousy Award include Markquis Nowell, Kansas State (2023), Collin Gillespie, Villanova (2022), Ayo Dosunmu, Illinois (2021), Ja Morant, Murray State (2019), Jalen Brunson, Villanova (2018), Trey Burke, Michigan (2013), Kendall Marshall, North Carolina (2012), Kemba Walker, Connecticut (2011), and Jameer Nelson, St. Joseph's (2004).
Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting, presented by Dell Technologies, in each of the three rounds starting on Friday, October 27. In late January, the watch list of 20 players for the 2024 Bob Cousy Award will be narrowed to 10, and then in late February, to just 5. In March, the five finalists will be presented to Cousy and the Hall of Fame's selection committee, where a winner will be selected.

USC will open up its season two weeks from today playing Kansas State in a Hall of Fame Series game in Las Vegas at T-Mobile Arena on Nov. 6. That game will start at 7 p.m. and will be carried on TNT. USC will play its home opener on Nov. 9 vs. CSU Bakersfield at the Galen Center at 6 p.m. That game will air on the Pac-12 Network.
