USC Rowing Finishes Racing at Head of the Charles
October 22, 2023 | Women's Rowing
BOSTON – The USC women's rowing team opened its 2023-24 season at the Head of the Charles on the Charles River this weekend (Oct. 21-22). On Saturday, the Women of Troy entered an Alumnae 8+, which placed fifteenth, and a Club 8, which placed fourth. On Sunday, USC fielded one boat, the Women's Championship 8, where they placed eighteenth.
TROJAN BOATS
"The Head of the Charles is the largest rowing reunion in the world. It is such a festival. We had a lot of positive racing and learning moments over the weekend.
The alumnae had a great race. It was great to welcome back some powerful alums. Being able to spend time with them was a great treat.
The Club 8+ had great race conditions; and, they came off the water knowing they had more to give. They're excited for the remaining fall races.
The Champ 8+ today raced against some big winds. They raced with great grit. It was nice to get a positive marker on the trainings we have been implementing. Getting caught up in the buoy was disappointing. But this group also knows they have a lot more to give. We are excited for Stanford!" "
