USC Rowing Launches 2023-24 Season at Head of the Charles

LOS ANGELES — USC women's rowing will send three boats to compete in the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 21-22). The Women of Troy will race in the Women's Alumnae 8+, the Women's Club 8+, and Women's Championship 8+.
In 2022, USC's Women's Club 8+ finished fifth with a time of 16:41.109. UCS's Alumnae 8+ will compete in the Head of the Charles for the second time. The alumnae finished seventh with a time of 16:50.017 in 2022. USC's Women's Championship 8+ finished 12th out of 29 boats last year.
The Trojans' Women's Alumnae 8+ will hit the water at 11:19 a.m. EST (8:19 a.m. PST) on Saturday. USC will face 49 other crews, including Michigan Alumni, Stanford Alumnae, and Syracuse Alumnae.
USC's Women's Club 8+ starts racing at 1:43 p.m. EST (10:43 a.m. PST) on Saturday, Oct. 21. The Trojans will compete against 39 crews, including Georgetown, San Diego, and Princeton.
USC's Women's Championship 8+ will race at 2:32 p.m. EST (11:32 a.m. PST) on Sunday, Oct. 22. The Women of Troy will race against 33 crew, including Stanford, Washington State, and Washington.
Since 1965, the Head of Charles Regatta has brought together the world's best crews for two days of intense competition in 55 different events on the Charles River. The regatta welcomes more than 11,000 athletes and 400,000 spectators each year.
In 2022-23, USC made its second of back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Championships and finished 16th with 42 points. Under sixth-year head coach Josh Adam, the Women of Troy claimed a fourth-place finish at the Pac-12 Championships and had junior Zoe McCutcheon named to the All-Conference Team. The Trojans swept crosstown rival UCLA in the annual rivalry dual to open the spring and improved to 20-1 all-time in head-to-head meetings with the Bruins. USC was ranked for much of the season in the Pocock CRCA Poll.
