Five USC Men's Water Polo Players Earn MPSF Scholar-Athlete Honors
January 18, 2023 | Men's Water Polo
It’s the third straight set of MPSF All-Academic accolades for Chris Agliozzo, Marcus Longton and Chris Sturtevant.
Five members of the USC men's water polo team have scored academic honors as MPSF Scholar-Athletes for 2022. Four of those Trojans — Chris Agliozzo, Marcus Longton, Kyle McKenney and Chris Sturtevant — wrap their USC careers on the honor roll, while sophomore Luka Brnetic snags his first set of accolades early in his Trojan career.
All five Trojans boast cumulative GPAs of 3.0 or better while having competed in at least 50 percent of USC's 2022 season, in which the Trojans won the MPSF Championship and reached the NCAA title match for the 17th time in the past 18 seasons. For Agliozzo, Longton and Sturtevant, they close out their USC careers with their third set of MPSF Scholar-Athlete honors. Sophomore Brnetic and grad student McKenney — both eligible for the award for the first time — collect their first such academic accolades.
In order to be eligible for MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete awards, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and have completed one full academic year at their institution prior to the season. They also must have participated in 50 percent or more of their team's competition in the 2022 season.
