USC Lacrosse’s Emma Wightman Selected As USA Magazine Preseason All-American Honorable Mention

SPARKS, Md. - USC Lacrosse earned one significant recognition in the preseason as defensive graduate transfer Emma Wightman earned a spot on the USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Honorable Mention List.
The defensive showstopper is setting a standard for making waves even before stepping onto the field for the Women of Troy. Wightman, a transfer from Florida, earned a name for herself as the focal point of the defense for the AAC Champions last year. Her accolades proved her success as she was labeled Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference in the AAC in 2022. In her final year with the Gators, she accumulated 40 groundballs, 38 caused turnovers, and three draw controls.
All eyes will be on Wightman this coming season, as she is expected to help USC in a significant way during the 2023 season. Wightman also earned a spot as No. 50 on the Inside Lacrosse top 50 returning players this offseason.
